When I first saw the box in the store I was simply intrigued, lip stuff made of beets? Turns out it's not as funky as it seems, it also has soothing, cozy chamomile and safflower seed oils and the scent is soft, no veggie aromas whatsoever. You don't really know what the container will look like, since BeFine products come in pretty house shaped paper boxes, once I opened it I was surprised at what it was. I expected a balm of some sorts, but then discovered that it's a liquid serum. The vial has lightly tinted liquid with a pump dispenser that I would pump and it would produce a perfect drop of shiny slick emulsion. This spreads wonderfully on the lips and gives them a soft, glossy sheen, but looks very natural and I often use this instead of gloss or lipstick.
Why I like this - the consistency is wonderful, never sticky or gooey but it's not your average balm, I can't imagine men using this for some reason, maybe because this makes the lips glossy and they usually don't go for that kind of stuff. I love how soft this makes my lips, it moisturizes like crazy and I slather it on all day long. The only down side is the idiotic dispenser. There is no straw in the bottle that sucks the serum from the bottom, once you use this up a little, the top of the serum has no contact with the pump and you can't get any product out. Now I have to keep this upside down, take the cap off, unscrew the pump and smear some on. How hard is it to fix this? I can't believe no one in the company thought of such a basic thing, I will probably write them an educational letter to let them know because it's simply stunning how someone could have omitted this - hence my 4 star rating!
